Prediction of symptom improvement after carpal tunnel surgery

Based on the paper of Hoogendam et al. (submitted)

This model predicts the probability that a patient will have a clinically relevant improvement in symptoms 6 months after surgery. Input to the model is symptom severity of a patient before surgery. This is measured with the Symptom Severity Scale of the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire (BCTQ). The model allows calculating this BCTQ Symptom Severity Scale before surgery if needed.

The model also requires pain, illness understanding, expectations of the treatment outcome, and depressive symptoms as input.
